Masamune Makabe is finally releasing after 6 long years of wait and fans could not seem to hold onto their excitement, as they will witness the further twists that are to be embarked in the plot. It is also one of the highest anticipated anime of summer 2023 and is finally getting released today, on 3rd July.
Initially, the anime was scheduled for April 2023, but due to COVID-19 it got delayed and the date was pushed further. The show will be streaming on Bs Fuji, AT-X, KBS Tokyo, and Tokyo MX in Japan. For the international audience, Crunchyroll will be airing the anime simultaneously with Ani-One, Asia’s YouTube channel.

Season 2’s 1st episode will be released at 11: pm JST, 7:00 am PST, 9:00 am CST, 3:00 pm GMT, 7:30 pm IST, and 4:00 pm CET.
Masamune-kun’s Revenge is a Japanese manga series written by Hazuki Takeoka. The manga was published by Ichijinsha and serialized in Monthly Comic Rex. It was released originally on the 27th of October 2012 and has 11 volumes till 2018.
In 2017, a television adaption was made which was directed by Mirai Minato and created by Silver Link Studious. The romantic comedy revolves around the story of Masamune Makabe, who was a chubby, healthy boy, and had a crush on Aki Adagaki, a gorgeous-looking girl. They had a close relationship until one day she cruelly embarrassed him in front of everyone and called him “Pig’s Foot.”
To seek revenge for this insult, Masamune started dieting and working on himself to become a fit and handsome school guy. When he finally ran into Aki, she doesn’t recognize him and he decides to seduce her into falling in love with him. His motive is to lure her into his trap and then reject her the same way as she did to him.
To execute this plan, Masamune starts allying up with Aki’s close friend Yoshino Koiwai, who also seems to know Masamune’s nickname.
