WhatsApp to introduce screen lock feature for the web version- Here’s everything you need to know

Meta-owned WhatsApp has introduced a new feature for the web version of it that will allow users to lock their chats. This will be done by setting up a password for the app beforehand. The latest development known as screen lock, is currently available for beta testers, who have downloaded the latest WhatsApp Web app or have enrolled in the beta program.

The feature has been introduced for WhatsApp Web users, who can log in to the app by scanning a bar code from their phones and can access the app from their desktops. The upcoming feature will ensure security and privacy for individuals. And while every time their login to the app through the web, they will have to verify themselves by applying the password.

According to WABetaInfo, the screen lock feature is compatible with WhatsApp Web. The enhancement can be accessed by going to WhatsApp Web settings and selecting privacy. There the screen lock feature would be visible and users can even choose when they should be notified with the password.

This advancement is one of the many developments that WhatsApp is working on. The new feature will be helpful for the users by keeping their chats safe and sound. Otherwise, earlier individuals had to log in every time for the matter of security and it was becoming a task. The screen lock feature will make it easier to access the web version, without the need to worry about privacy matters.

WhatsApp has also introduced a multi-account feature for the beta version 2.23.8.3. earlier which can be accessed by users who have downloaded the latest WhatsApp version through the play store. In order to avail of this feature, users are supposed to go to the three-dot icon, located on the top right corner. Then they will have to select the ‘Accounts’ option. Then they will be taken to a different screen and next to their account, there will be a “+” icon, which will help them add up to three more accounts on the app.
