Meta-owned WhatsApp is the fastest-mode messaging app that has been widely used by the masses. The platform is upgraded with each passing day and adds up new enhancements for the betterment of the users so that they are able to share and chat easily. Recently, WhatsApp introduced a new privacy feature that hides users’ phone numbers in the community group chats.
Communities feature was introduced last year in November and till now it has received certain new amendments. The new update for Android 2.23.14.19 and iOS 23.14.0.70 versions will be launched which allows users to hide their phone numbers while joining the community chat. Other group members won’t be able to see it except for the admin.
The platform already hides the list of members on the community group but when the users reacted to certain messages their numbers used to be visible. The new feature will hide the phone numbers even when the individual is chatting or reacting to messages, as per the WABetaInfo report.

The new feature can be activated from the Community announcement group info and WhatsApp alerts the users that their number is hidden from other members except for the participant who has previously saved your number. Though, it is only beneficial for users and not admins as the former will be able to see the phone numbers of admins at all times.
Currently, the feature is being tested by the platform and will be made available to the users soon after other minor technical glitches are also resolved.
