The upcoming second season of Urusei Yatsura is going to premiere in January 2024. Ahead of the show’s release, a new key visual has been revealed featuring Lum and her friends flying above Earth. The second instalment is highly anticipated by the fans due to the first season’s remarkable success and its thrilling plot.
Urusei Yatsura is based on the Japanese manga series written by Rumiko Takahashi. It was published by Shogakukan and serialized in their Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. The manga was released on the 24th of September 1978 and has 34 volumes in all.

The story was later renewed for an anime adaption which ran on television from 1981 to 1986. Many such films and video games have also been released in the last four decades.
The first season of the show was released in 2022 and was produced by David Production. The second season will be directed by Hideya Takahashi and Yasuhiro Kimura at the same production house. While the character design will be handled by Yuuko Kakihara and Naoyuki Asano. Masaru Yokoyama will be doing the music composition.
