Twitter, X to soon inculcate the video calling feature, confirms CEO Linda Yaccarino

CEO of X (earlier known as Twitter) Linda Yaccarino has confirmed that their platform will soon be rolling out a video calling feature on its platform. The enhancement will be turning out beneficial for the users, as they can access video calling without the need to share numbers. The news was known in her recent interview, as it comes up the new feature aligns with her aim of making X into a multitasking app.

However, it’s still unknown how the feature will unfold for X, as they are numerous video-calling apps like Zoom, Google Meet, and social media platforms already providing the facility. But Elon Musk and Linda’s view is to transform the app into an all-in-one hub for communication and networking. And also to enhance business transactions.

Yaccarino also explained how real-time interactions are crucial for the X platform, she said that “At the heart of the rebrand, X, we need to keep our minds open that it’s developing into this global town square that is fueled by free expression where the public gathers in real-time. And I want to stop on that for a second because ‘in real time’ is what’s most important about the vibrancy of X and how people interact with it. And now it’s all in one seamless interface.”

Since its re-branding and even months before that, certain changes have been made to the app, changing its interface. It started with a long-form video on the app. Then the Twitter Blue feature enabling premium subscribers to upload videos for up to two hours straight. All these amendments have altered various spectrums for Twitter, which was earlier just a micro-blogging platform.
