IND vs BAN: India’s dominance forces Bangladesh to make several changes ahead of the second Test

Bangladesh have named left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed to their 15-man squad for the second Test against India, which will take place in Dhaka from December 22 to 26. Nasum has played 32 limited overs matches for Bangladesh but has yet to appear in a Test match.

The inclusion of Nasum is not surprising given that Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo admitted during the post-first-Test press conference that they are unsure whether Shakib al Hasan will be able to bowl in the second Test. In the first innings of the Chattogram Test, Shakib bowled only 12 overs and chose not to bowl in the second innings.

Pace bowler Ebadot Hossain, who was unable to bowl in the second innings of the first Test due to a back injury, is not included in the squad. Shoriful Islam has also been ruled out after injuring his hamstring during a practise session just before the first Test.

Aside from the pace duo, batter Anamul Haque is also left out of the squad. Meanwhile, Mominul Haque, the former Test captain who did not play in the first Test, has been retained.
