Indian former cricketer and one of the 2011 World Cup heroes, Munaf Patel is in deep trouble after his bank accounts were blocked as a result of the UP Real Estate Regulatory Authority issuing a Recovery Certificate (RC) (UP-RERA).

According to reports, a legal action has been brought against Munaf to recoup INR 52 lakh, and this action has been approved by the magistrate overseeing the UP-sub-divisional RERA, Alok Kumar Gupta. Gupta claims that the revenue team was able to get the money back after seizing Patel’s bank accounts.

Niwas Promoters Private Limited, a real estate company, is said to have Munaf Patel on its board of directors. After a residential project was finished, the company allegedly failed to reimburse the investors, which prompted UP-RERA to act appropriately by issuing an RC to them.
