Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi tests positive for COVID-19

This comes a day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Congress party interim president Sonia Gandhi and MP, Rahul Gandhi, over the National Herald case.

On Thursday, June 2, Congress’s interim president Sonia Gandhi tested positive for COVID-19. Congress leader Randeep Surjewala said that she has developed symptoms related to COVID-19 and has isolated herself.

“She has developed mild fever & some symptoms and has isolated herself and has been given requisite medical attention,” said Congress leader Randeep Surjewala.

This comes a day after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Congress party interim president Sonia Gandhi and MP, Rahul Gandhi, over the National Herald case. The notice has been issued regarding the National Herald money laundering case. The case was closed by the investigation agency in 2015. As per Congress leader, Abhishekh Manu Singhvi ED has asked Sonia and Rahul Gandhi to appear on June 8.

Regarding Soni Gandhi’s appearance before the ED, Surjewala said “as of today, her date of appearance before ED on June 8th stands as it is.”
