Harsimrat Kaur Badal, a member of parliament from Bathinda, heavily criticised Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in the parliament on Tuesday, accusing him of drinking and driving the state. The Shiromani Akali Dal MP made the aforementioned remarks while participating in a discussion about the government’s efforts to combat drug abuse.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal also accused former MP Bhagwant Mann of coming to the parliament drunk. She continued by stating that MPs who used to sit close to Mann had requested a change in seats.

“The Chief Minister of state used to sit in the House a few months ago. The person who used to come to the Parliament in an inebriated state is now running the state. Members who used to sit near him had complained to change their seats,” she said.

The MP also used the opportunity to bring up an incident from 2016 in which Bhagwant Mann crossed security barriers while disregarding the security of the parliament. Following a commotion, Mann was expelled from the meeting after a parliamentary panel found him responsible for endangering the safety of the chamber. During that time, Bhagwant Man was the only MP for the AAP.
