DGCA imposes monetary fine on Air Vistara for violating regulations

The violation is regarding the takeoff and landing clearance given to first officers without conducting any training. 

On Thursday, June 2, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has imposed a monetary fine on the airline Air Vistara for violating safety regulations. The violation is regarding the takeoff and landing clearance given to first officers without conducting any training.

The fine imposed is Rs 10 lakh for violating the regulations. As per the regulations, first officers are bound to clear training to land the aircraft in the simulator before they can do it at the aircraft with passengers on board. A captain is also trained in a simulator before transferring the landing power to the first officer.

While a landing in Indore it was detected that the aircraft was being landed by the first officer without the captain or the first officer trained on the simulator. The aviation regulator has termed this as a serious violation that has endangered the lives of passengers on board.
