Meta-owned WhatsApp is a prominent messaging app being accessed by billions of users throughout the world. The messaging platform is working on introducing a new security measure that would ensure that no personal information can be infringed by anyone. The company is developing a new feature wherein users will be able to protect their accounts with email addresses.
The latest feature will be optional and will enable users to verify their accounts in certain scenarios. The said update has been found in WhatsApp for Android version 2.23.16.15, as per a report by WABetaInfo.
The upcoming feature will protect users’ accounts from being hacked. By providing your email address, WhatsApp will verify and protect your account. However, some users may have inhibitions while giving away their confidential details.

WhatsApp has been working on building strong security measures for users, which makes them feel safe while sharing personal information. Earlier in April, the platform introduced multiple security measures such as Device Verification, Account Protect, and Automatic Security Codes.
The respective feature’s primary objective was to prevent the unregistered transfer of accounts to other devices. While helping in giving protection from unethical activities and also creating security codes for verification.
