Kingdom is getting a 5th season and the makers of the anime revealed a new key visual on Monday along with announcing its release date. The show will be released in January 2024. The information relating to the staff hasn’t been known. But over the years, the show has seen a shift in multiple studious, for the fifth season it will be animated by Studio Sign Post. The anime is highly anticipated by the audiences.

The new key visual features the characters from the Koku You Campaign arc and also affirms the release window. The main cast on the poster is Ri Shin, Lieutenant Kyou Kai, En, Ka Ryo Ten, and Bihei. At the end of season 4th, it was known that the fifth season is under production and a teaser video was being uploaded at that time. The teaser has also provided some interesting insights from the plot.

The upcoming season will be directed by Kenichi Imaizumi. The character design will be done by Hisashi Abe and Noboru Takagi will be composing the series. While Avex Pictures will be producing the song for the fifth season.

The anime is adapted from the manga series written by Yasuhisa Hara and the fifth season will showcase the much-awaited Koku You Campaign arc. It will also have a major spotlight on the battle between the Qin Army and Zhao Army at Koku You Hill.

Crunchyroll streams the anime for the international audience and describes the plot as-

“Shin and Hyou are war-orphans in the kingdom of Qin. They dream of proving themselves on the battlefield until the day Hyou is captured by a minister. The boy manages to escape and return to his village, but he is badly injured. Shin then meets a mysterious youth who bears an eerie resemblance to Hyou—a boy who will one day become emperor!”
