In response to worries about the “lack of transparent data” coming from Beijing, the U.S. government may impose new COVID-19 measures on visitors from China, according to U.S. officials on Tuesday.

The action follows the announcement of stricter regulations for travellers from China by Japan, India, and Malaysia in the previous day, citing an increase in infections there.

Japan has stated that it will demand a negative COVID-19 test result from visitors from China. Malaysia implemented more tracking and monitoring measures.
