Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb resigns

On Saturday, May 14, Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has resigned from his post. He has submitted his resignation to Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya, as reported by ANI.

The announcement of the new CM is likely to be made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a meeting today. There are assembly elections to be held next year. “Party wants me to work to strengthen the organisation,” said Biplab Deb to PTI. Biplab was appointed as the chief minister of Tripura in 2018.

The ruling party BJP is scheduled to hold a meeting at 5 pm to elect the new chief minister. Union minister Bhupender Yadav & BJP general secretary Vinod Tawde have been appointed as central observers for it.
