The announcement was made on the official Twitter account of Chainsaw Man on the 18th of July about the collaboration with UNIQLO. The declaration comes with a teaser video stating their merch which will be coming soon.
UNIQLO is a clothing brand based in Japan and also serves as a fashion epitome for international consumers. The company is well-renowned and has several collaborations under its name. On the other hand, this will be the first time the anime Chainsaw Man will be entering into clothing merch.
The fashion brand UNIQLO has previously collaborated with other anime such as Doraemon and One Piece in the year 2018 and 2019 respectively. The new merger will be likely out at the end of 2023 and early 2024. The dates somewhat collide with the show’s second season, which is anticipated to premier in the coming year. And the collaboration would just make everything even better.
Although, not much information was given apart from the teaser video. But looking back on the brand’s tradition, they will bring out a casual line of clothing along with streetwear attires at most. Also, depending on the release time of the merch, they could also launch the clothes pertaining to specific seasons.
The collaboration has already come as a surprise to fans and are anticipating excitement for the exclusive release of the merch. UNIQLO’s clothing garments would be affordable to some extent. Like in the US, the basics would cost about $20. While fans can fault their growing love for Chainsaw Man in a fashionable manner.
Chainsaw Man is a sensational anime, which has been appreciated by the audience in large numbers. Adapted from Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga series, it was published in 2018 in Weekly Shonen Jump and has 14 volumes in total.
The manga was later announced for a television series that was animated by the famously MAPPA Studious. It was directed by Ryu Nakayama and Masato Nakazono. The first season premiered on the 12th of October 2022 and is currently available on Netflix.
