Meta-owned Facebook and Instagram will get soon witness a customized feature. The company has been working on prototypes for chatbots which can have conversations, having different personalities. The chatbots will have their character and personality. They could be anyone depending on what conversations we might prefer having.
The company’s aim with this advancement is to increase user engagement and make the platforms more convenient for them. Users can get recommendations, understand the products and also will help with gaining recognition.
The upcoming AI-skilled chatbots will obtain a major proportion of data based on users’ likes and interests. This will then lead to Meta showcasing more relevant content on users’ feeds and ads, increasing engagement. Meta’s main source of revenue is advertisements, this would also turn beneficial for the company.
The tech giant is aiming to bring the new development as soon as September. The AI chatbots will be formulated in a manner that could adopt different personalities. They are working on a chatbot that will be prepared in a manner to talk like former American President Abraham Lincoln. He would give insights into the history and varied knowledge. Another chatbot that would have the personality of a surfer would give suggestions on travel options in a chilled manner.
The chatbots will serve two main functions. Firstly, they will be inbuilt into the search option, which would change the way users search the content or Meta-owned platforms. Secondly, the chatbots would help users with recommendations and posts as per their liking and preference.
