Many users of the well-known messaging service WhatsApp are reporting difficulty sending and receiving texts, videos, and other content from countries including India, the United Kingdom, South Africa, and Asia.
“We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible,” a spokesperson for WhatsApp parent company Meta Platforms (META.O) said on Monday.

As of around 0750 GMT, according to Downdetector, more than 11,000 customers in India have reported an outage, compared to 68,000 in the UK and 19,000 in Singapore.
By combining status information from many sources, including user-submitted problems on its platform, Downdetector keeps track of outages. There’s a chance that more customers were impacted by the outage.
The outage detection website reveals that thousands of users are unable to access WhatsApp. According to the website’s heat map, affected areas include important cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Lucknow, but we worry that consumers worldwide are being impacted.
Responding to several users’ complaints a Meta Company Spokesperson said, “We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble sending messages and we’re working to restore WhatsApp for everyone as quickly as possible.”
