SpiceJet Disbursing Salaries in a “Graded form”

The HR team has informed the employees about the delays citing that the “previous few months have been difficult” due to “superlative fuel price hike” and also “historically lean period of July-September”.

SpiceJet employees raised grievances on the delay in the disbursal of salaries for the second straight month. The budget airline defended the claim saying that the payments are being made in a “graded format”. The entire range of employees including flight crew has been effected in the month of July and many are yet to get the Form 16 for the financial year 2021-2022 as well, SpiceJet employees claimed. With the onset of the pandemic and constant disruptions in disbursement of salaries, a lot of pilots have resigned from SpiceJet in the recent months. This included first officers as well as captains of its Boeing 737 fleet.
