With an estimated net worth of $134 billion and interests in everything from Australia’s busiest ports to India’s coal mines, 60-year-old Gautam Adani is the third-richest person in the world.
His personal wealth increased by $49 billion this year, surpassing that of Warren Buffett and Bill Gates. Adani is expanding his infrastructure business, which has surpassed Jeff Bezos in net worth with a current valuation of $125.5 billion. He has been the busiest dealmaker this year, paying $10 billion for the Indian operations of Swiss cement giant Holcim Ltd.
