Earlier in the day, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, announced the approval of new projects in the Northeast valued Rs. 1.6 billion.
He stated that these projects comprise roads, ropeways, rope bridges, major bridges across the River Brahmaputra, and other water bodies at the concluding press conference of the evaluation of NH projects in the North East Region in Guwahati, Assam. According to Gadkari, multimodal logistics parks have also been planned for Silchar, Assam, and Udaipur, Tripura.
According to Shri Gadkari, we are working to close the connectivity gap in Northeast India and boost the region’s transportation infrastructure under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

According to the minister, 50 Viewpoints and 50 Way Side Amenities are also being built. When finished, it would significantly benefit the Northeastern region’s economy and tourism industry, he noted.
