British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak expressed his confidence on Wednesday that his administration can meet the challenges before the cabinet and deliver for the entire United Kingdom. He declared that now is the time to get to work and win the British people’s trust.
“This morning I set out to Cabinet the enormous task we face, and why I am confident that this government can rise to the challenge and deliver for the whole United Kingdom,” he tweeted.
To reassure the public that his new administration would offer economic stability and continuity after his predecessor Liz Truss’ tax proposals caused a market upheaval, Sunak met for the first time as Britain’s prime minister with his new team earlier in the day before facing the opposition in Parliament.

King Charles III appointed Sunak as Prime Minister yesterday, days after Truss left 10 Downing Street, the prime minister’s official residence, amid a severe economic crisis. Sunak picked his main staff shortly after being appointed, including senior ministers from the administrations of his two immediate predecessors, Boris Johnson and Truss.
