FIFA officials reject Zelenskyy’s request to share message of peace ahead of World Cup Finals

In advance of the World Cup final on Sunday in Qatar, CNN reported that FIFA had rejected a request from Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky to deliver a message of world peace. According to the reports, Mr. Zelensky intended to send a video message to stadium patrons in Qatar prior to the game.

The Ukrainian President has repeatedly pleaded for peace and support on the international stage at political and cultural gatherings, including the G20 summit, the Grammy Awards, the US Congress, and the parliament of Israel. Additionally, Mr. Zelensky has conducted interviews and conversations with a wide range of journalists and famous entertainers, including Sean Paul and David Letterman.
