Roger Federer, a Swiss tennis legend, lost the Laver Cup match against Rafael Nadal on Saturday, bringing an end to his professional career. At the O2 arena, Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe of Team World defeated Federer and Nadal 4-6, 7-6 (7/2), and 11-9. Federer became emotional as he reminisced about some of his career’s pinnacle moments after the match. Nadal was really upset and could not control his tears when he saw Federer.
The Australian Open’s official Instagram account also posted a picture of Federer and Nadal both in tears, with the message, “Biggest rivals, best mates #Fedal.”

With Nadal and Djokovic, Federer had fierce competition throughout his entire career. He played 40 times where the Swiss tennis player fell behind 16–24 against the Spaniard Nadal. Federer is down to Djokovic 23–27.
Nobody can ever forget Federer’s Wimbledon finals matches versus Nadal and Djokovic in 2008 and 2019, respectively, because they caught everyone’s attention. Both of these games lasted longer than four hours each.
The Swiss tennis player won five US Open wins, one French Open title, and six Australian Open titles in addition to his eight Wimbledon victories. Federer had fierce competition with players like Nadal and Djokovic throughout his career. These athletes, known as the “Big Three,” dominated the sport to an unprecedented degree.
Federer saw the most success during the 2006 season, going on to win 12 singles championships and compile a 92-5 match record. Amazingly, the Swiss tennis prodigy participated in 17 tournaments during the season and made it to the finals in 16 of them.
