Amazon fined for not recording warehouse injuries: Report

The US Department of Labor said on Friday that Inc failed to properly record work-related injuries and illnesses at six warehouses in five states as part of an ongoing investigation into the company’s safety policies.

The Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) cited Amazon for 14 separate recordkeeping violations, and the company faces a $29,000 fine.

OSHA fines are generally limited to $14,500 per violation and are frequently much lower for recordkeeping violations.

Citations have been issued for warehouses in Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, and two in New York. OSHA stated that it was still looking into alleged safety violations at the warehouses.
