The “Extreme Sports” version of the Apple Watch will include a “Pro” tier, just like its smartphones, laptops, tablets, and headphones, and is expected to debut alongside other models later this year. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the tough watch from Apple may be known as the Apple Watch Extreme, Apple Watch Max, Apple Watch Explorer Edition, or Apple Watch Pro. He also states that it will have “pro” features such a bigger, more durable display that will raise its price and possibly make it as expensive as the iPhone 13 Pro.

Gurman claims that the tough Apple Watch will include “pro” functions in his newsletter. He explains that the “pro” version of Apple Watch will be noticeably different from the regular Apple Watch offerings, which are reportedly launching later this year, just like the “pro” models in its other consumer products, such as the MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and iPhone Pro are distinguished from other models in a lineup. Gurman further asserts that N199 is the internal codename for the “Extreme Sports” model of the Apple Watch. The business “will likely go with the Apple Watch Pro moniker and promotion,” in his opinion.

According to Gurman, the upcoming Apple Watch will have “a larger and more shatter-resistant display, enhanced hiking and swim tracking, longer battery life, and a heftier and rugged case made from a premium, non-aluminum metal material (probably titanium given that it’s much more durable than steel),” among other features. Additionally, it is claimed to target athletes who compete in extreme sports and will likely compete with high-end Garmin wearables. The pro edition will reportedly have larger screens, improved performance, and a higher asking price.

‘Apple Watch Pro’ price (rumoured)

Due to its larger display, better sensors, and higher-quality materials, Gurman asserts that the future high-end Apple Watch may start closer to $900 (approximately Rs. 71,450) to $999 (about Rs. 79,300) — essentially the beginning price of an iPhone 13 Pro in the US. Apple is also rumoured to introduce a new Apple Watch SE in addition to the normal Apple Watch Series 8.

While the normal Series 8 is anticipated to start at $399 (approximately Rs. 31,700) in its smallest size and aluminium configuration to replace the Series 7 that might start at $849, the Apple Watch SE could be priced as the current model at $279 (about Rs. 22,150). (roughly Rs. 67,400).

Apple’s next Watch may compete with devices like the Samsung Galaxy Watch Pro 5 series, which is also said to have a “pro” model, in addition to Garmin wearables. Apple’s wearables may only be available in LTE variants, while Samsung is expected to release both LTE and non-LTE models. Apple’s professional watch will have a 46mm or 47mm case size.
