Today’s Naval Innovation and Indigenization Organization Seminar will be addressed by PM Modi
The Prime Minister will announce the “SPRINT Challenges,” which are designed to encourage the Indian Navy to use homegrown technologies.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak at the Naval Innovation and Indigenisation Organisation (NIIO) seminar “Swavlamban” on July 18 as a part of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.” The event will start at 4:30 p.m. in New Delhi’s Dr. Ambedkar International Center.
The Prime Minister’s Office stated that achieving self-reliance in the defence sector is a key component of Aatmanirbhar Bharat when outlining the seminar’s specifics. The Prime Minister will also introduce the “SPRINT Challenges” at the event, which are intended to promote the use of domestic technology by the Indian Navy.
SPRINT is the name of a joint effort between the NIIO and the Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO) that intends to introduce at least 75 new indigenous products and technology into the Indian Navy (Supporting Pole-Vaulting in R&D through iDEX, NIIO and TDAC).

“The seminar aims to engage Indian industry and academia towards achieving self-reliance in the Defence sector,” according to PMO release. The two-day event, which is slated to take place on July 18 and July 19, will give executives from business, academia, services, and government a forum to collaborate and develop suggestions for the defence industry. There will be sessions on innovation, indigenization, armament, and aviation. In addition, the seminar’s second day will feature outreach to the Indian Ocean Region in keeping with the government’s SAGAR vision (Security and Growth for All in the Region).
