Along with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and other central Asian leaders, PM Modi also posed for a group photo at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.

This edition of the Shanghai Cooperation Summit gets more significant in nature as this is the first time Chinese President Xi Jinping flew out of China for a summit since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Before this summit, Xi Jinping has only ever had one meeting with a foreign head of state: a meeting with Vladimir Putin of Russia outside the Winter Olympics in Beijing earlier this year.
