Rahul Gandhi will start the 21-day Karnataka leg of his Bharat Jodo Yatra on Friday. Before entering Telangana, he plans to walk 511 kilometres through seven districts of the state. Before the Legislative Assembly election, the Congress state unit will try to make the most of the yatra to energise its members and assemble public support.

On Friday, the yatra would start at Gundlupet in the Chamarajanagar district and go through the districts of Mysuru, Mandya, Tumkuru, Chitradurga, Ballari, and Raichur. Sonia Gandhi, the president of the Congress, is anticipated to participate in a significant rally in Ballari, while Priyanka Gandhi, the general secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), is anticipated to engage with women in the Mandya district.

Rahul Gandhi will spend Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 in the village of Badanavalu in the district of Mysuru, which was formerly noted for its khadi industry. In 1927 and 1932, Mahatma Gandhi paid a total of two visits to the khadi production facility there.

The Karnataka Congress will attempt to step up its opposition to many allegations of corruption by the state’s BJP government. It has been made clear that Rahul Gandhi’s yatra will focus on a number of important topics, including corruption, unemployment, inflation, and farmer suffering.

Congress leaders from neighbouring states are anticipated to participate in the yatra in addition to current MLAs and candidates who ran but lost in their respective constituencies in 2018.

Rahul will march every day with 15,000 to 20,000 supporters, according to Congress leaders. The state Congress has instructed all subdivisions to guarantee that this number and those who have registered online for the yatra both attend.

The state Congress has scheduled meetings with women’s groups, youth organisations, attorneys, writers, teachers, and artists. Rahul will speak with the families of Covid victims in Chamarajanagar who allegedly died at the district hospital from a lack of oxygen.

The Bharat Jodo Yatra’s Kerala leg came to a close on Thursday at Vazhikkadavu in Malappuram, and Rahul Gandhi hailed the state’s Congress supporters for their assistance. Before entering Karnataka, Rahul and his companions are scheduled to travel to Gudalur in Tamil Nadu.

The 3,570-kilometer, 150-day foot march began on September 7 in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu, and will end in Jammu and Kashmir.
