During two suspects in the murder of Sidhu Moose Wala were shot dead after a fierce gunfight with Punjab Police near Amritsar on Wednesday, Mr. Mann commended the police and the anti-gangster task force for carrying out an operation against criminals in the state successfully.

Jagroop Singh Roopa and Manpreet Singh, two gangsters from whom an AK-47 and a pistol were found after the encounter, were identified as the victims.

The state government has declared a decisive war on gangsters and other anti-social elements in the state, according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office released by Bhagwant Mann. The Punjab Police has achieved significant success in an anti-gangster operation in Amritsar, in keeping with its commitment.

In a customary Sikh “Anand Karaj” wedding ceremony, Mr. Mann and Dr. Gurpreet Kaur were wed earlier this month on July 21.

Bhagwant Mann, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), took oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab on March 16 after AAP won 92 seats in the Punjab Assembly elections, overwhelming most of its rivals into the margins. In the 117-member Assembly, Congress won 18 seats.
