PM Modi’s Mother Heeraben passes away at Gandhinagar: “Glorious century comes to an end at God’s knees”

PM Modi sharing her picture on Twitter wrote, “In mother, I have always felt trinity, which includes the journey of an ascetic, the symbol of a selfless karma yogi and a life committed to values.”

Earlier On Wednesday, PM Modi’s mother, was admitted to Ahmedabad, Gujarat’s UN Mehta Hospital’s Institute of Cardiology and Research Center. The PM also visited the hospital to see his ill mother, earlier.

Heeraben Modi was born in Vadnagar, Mehsana, Gujarat, on June 18, 1923. She has one daughter, Vasantiben Hasmukhlal Modi, and five sons: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pankaj Modi, Soma Modi, Amrit Modi, and Prahlad Modi.
Heeraben Modi lived with Pankaj Modi, the younger brother of the prime minister, in Raysan, a village close to Gandhinagar.

PM Modi’s mother turned 99 in June this year. In his blog post titled “Mother” on her birthday this year, PM wrote: “Today, I feel incredibly fortunate and delighted to announce that my mother, Smt. Heeraba, is turning 100. This year will mark the 100th anniversary of her birth. Last week would have been my father’s 100th birthday if he had been living. As my mother’s centenary year begins and my fathers would have ended in 2022, it will be a special year.”

The blog further read as follows, “I am certain that my parents are to blame for everything positive in my life and in my character. I am overcome with nostalgia as I sit here in Delhi today.”

According to sources cited by news agency ANI, PM Modi, who was supposed to travel to West Bengal to officially unveil the development projects, may participate in the events via video conference. PM Modi has reportedly left for Ahmedabad.
