PM Modi to flag off Vande Bharat Express which runs between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri

The Vande Bharat Express, which runs between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri, will be flagged off by the Prime Minister at the Howrah Railway Station. Modern passenger amenities are included with the ultra-modern semi-high speed train. In both directions, the train will stop at the stations of Malda Town, Barsoi, and Bolpur (Shantiniketan).

West Bengal is all set to get its first Vande Bharat Express train. In comparison to other trains on the route, the new Vande Bharat Express from Howrah to New Jalpaiguri is anticipated to reduce travel time by three hours. There are 14 trains on this route, according to the authorities. All of them travel the 564 km distance in an average of about 10:45 hours.

According to the officials, the Vande Bharat Express train will travel the distance from Howrah to New Jalpaiguri in 7:45 hours. The travel time between Kolkata and Siliguri, the entrance to the northeast, will be greatly shortened as a result.

The train will have three stoppages — Barsoi, Malda and Bolpur. The blue-and-white train is currently at Eastern Railway’s Liluah loco shed. For those who don’t want to stay the night in Siliguri before continuing on to their destinations, the train will be especially helpful.
