PM Modi to attend scheduled West Bengal events through video conference after mother’s final rites

Heeraba, mother of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, passed away on Friday morning at the age of 100. She passed away around 3.30 am. She was admitted earlier this week due to health concerns to the U N Mehta Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre in Ahmedabad.
On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi used video conferencing to attend events scheduled in West Bengal while still in his hometown to take part in his mother Heeraben Modi’s funeral rites. The prime minister is scheduled to announce the launch of development projects worth more than Rs 7,800 crore in West Bengal, according to the PMO. It is also intended to flag off the Howrah-to-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express.
According to the most recent development, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw arrived at Howrah station, where the programme was supposed to take place.
