Paritosh Tripathi is appointed MD and CEO of SBI General Insurance

Paritosh Tripathi has been appointed managing director and CEO of SBI General Insurance Company Ltd., effective as of July 5. He was put forth by P.C. Kandpal and the parent organisation, State Bank of India.

Tripathi is responsible for the overall business strategy & growth, operations, budgets, and strategic growth of SBI General Insurance. He has worked in banking for more than 32 years. He had spent the majority of the first half of his banking career working in the MSME and mid-corporate segments before switching to international banking and Bancassurance.

Tripathi served as the general manager of operations for the internal banking group at State Bank of India before joining SBI General Insurance. He also served on the boards of Sterling Bank in Nigeria and SBI Canada.

He served as Head Bancassurance for SBI Mutual Fund and SBI General Insurance, respectively, from 2017 to 2020. He held the positions of CEO SBI DIFC Branch in Dubai and Head FI Relationship (East Asia) in Hong Kong earlier. He had several positions within the bank while working for SBI Delhi Circle before accepting these foreign roles.
