OpenSea, an platform for NFTs has assured endorsement to Ethereum’s energy-efficient upgrade called the merge. The platform ensured the users that no Ethereum forks will be supported on OpenSea for the seamlessness of the transaction processes. Forks are when major technical upgrades or changes are need to be made to the network and they typically stem from Ethereum Improvement Proposals and change the “rules” of the protocol. Recently, a report had warned that stablecoins and transactions supported by the Ethereum blockchain could encounter some snags because of a shift from Proof-of-work mining model to the energy efficient Proof-of-stake model. In the previous month, some of the other major stablecoins like Tether and Circle Pay which issues the USD Coin offered backing for the Merge. The latter has said that on the release of the Merge, it will only use that version of Ethereum for the operation of USD Coin.
