Two different Spicejet planes had fuselage door warning lights come on during takeoff on Friday and Saturday, requiring the aircrafts to turn around and return, according to representatives of the Indian aviation regulator DGCA, which requested an investigation into the occurrences. In the past week, there have been a total of four mishaps on SpiceJet aircraft, including the two listed above. According to officials, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is looking into each of the four instances. The aircraft’s main body, or fuselage, is where the crew and passengers sit.
On June 19, shortly after taking off from the Patna airport, an engine on a SpiceJet plane destined for Delhi with 185 passengers caught fire. The plane then made an emergency landing. A bird hit and caused the engine to malfunction. On June 19, another incident occurred that required a SpiceJet flight bound for Jabalpur to return to Delhi because to problems with cabin pressurisation.
On Friday (June 24), officials reported that a SpiceJet Q400 aircraft’s fuselage warning light came on when the aircraft was in “rotation,” or when the pilots pitched the nose of the aircraft up to rise in the air during takeoff.

According to the officials, the Q400 plane’s pilots discovered that the warning was coming from the baggage door in the back of the aircraft as it was en route from Guwahati to Kolkata. The Q400 airliner levelled down at 5,000 feet, and the pilots made the decision to land back in Guwahati, according to the officials.
On SpiceJet’s Patna-Guwhati flight on Saturday, a similar event to the one from Friday occurred (June 25). At the Patna airport on Saturday, a SpiceJet Q400 plane’s fuselage door warning light illuminated, which caused the plane to halt its takeoff roll.
It was discovered that the alarm had originated from the baggage door at the back of the aircraft in this instance as well, they claimed. Officials stated that the Q400 airliner cancelled its takeoff and then landed back in the Patna airport’s parking area.
SpiceJet reported that a “Q400 aircraft was operating flight SG-4126, sector Guwahati-Kolkata” on the day of the incident. Fuselage door warning light came on at rotation, and takeoff proceeded. The pilot-in-command then decided to return to Guwahati after the aircraft levelled down at 5,000 feet, it said.
According to the report, an air turn back was started in consultation with an ATC (air traffic controller), and the aircraft made a safe landing at Guwahati. Regarding the incident on Saturday, the airline said: “SpiceJet Q400 aircraft was operating flight SG-3724, sector Patna-Guwahati. During takeoff roll, fuselage door warning light illuminated. Subsequently, the take-off was rejected and aircraft returned to bay.”
