Musk, who has been serving as Twitter CEO since he bought the social media platform for $44 billion, broke the news of Yaccarino’s appointment on Friday. Since then, in her first ever interaction with the public, the new CEO tweeted, “I’ve long been inspired by your vision to create a brighter future. I’m excited to help bring this vision to Twitter and transform this business together.”

She added that she has committed herself for the future of the social media platform and believes that the feedback is of utmost importance for the future. She also mentioned that despite of not being as “prolific” as Musk, her follower count has been on the rise. “Let’s keep the conversation going and build Twitter 2.0 together!” she tweeted.

Yaccarino was earlier situated at NBCUniversal, where she was an advertising chief for several years. She will soon take over the social media platform and will face many challenges, primary being to try to reverse the plunge in its ad revenue.
