“Navi Mumbai airport to come into effect from 2024,” says Devendra Fadnavis- Read

The Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis made the confirmation in the state legislative assembly on Friday that the Navi Mumbai will be functional from the next year. While the planes will depart in August 2024.

The information came to light when the congress leader and former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan brought to notice the current situation of airports in the state. To that, the deputy minister said that the Navi Mumbai airport will be effective from 2024.

He also stated further that the work on Nanded and Latur airports has stopped currently due to the payment not being cleared by the designated company. The Minister took to his Twitter account and stated regarding the airport condition saying, “Navi Mumbai airport will start functioning next year. Nanded, Latur airport works have come to a standstill. The company that was given the work hasn’t paid the dues. Advocate General’s opinion will be taken and we will expedite this work.”

Fadnavis also said that the government is planning on setting a responsible authority for the functioning of the airport and for efficient management. The decision on the matter is expected to arrive in three months. These steps are crucial in building air connectivity and also Maharashtra’s infrastructure, which will in general contribute to the state’s welfare.

The deputy minister also informed us that they are building a Rs 650 crore building at Shirdi airport.
