Meta’s India head Ajit Mohan,resigns immediately: reports

According to those familiar with the developments, Ajit Mohan, the national head for Meta (previously Facebook) in India, resigned from the firm on November 3 with immediate effect. This exit was confirmed by the company to news sources.

According to sources who spoke with News agency Moneycontrol, the staff are in shock because the exit was unexpected. According to a source familiar with the situation, Mohan is joining rival Snap. For confirmation, we’ve written to Snap Inc.; we’ll let you know when we hear back.

Ajit has made the decision to leave Meta in order to pursue another opportunity outside of the organization, according to Nicola Mendelsohn, Vice President, Global Business Group, Meta.

In January 2019, Ajit Mohan replaced the departing Umang Bedi as the managing director of Meta’s India business. Umang Bedi had left the company in October 2017. Prior to Meta, Mohan spent four years as the CEO of Star India’s (now Disney Star) Hotstar, a video streaming business.
