Man in videos massaging Satyendar Jain a rape accused

According to jail officials, the man seen in videos massaging Delhi minister Satyendar Jain at the Tihar jail is a rape accused who is charged under the POCSO Act, which protects children from sexual offences.

The man was named Rinku by the authorities, who added that he was detained last year and was being held in a ward close to Jain’s cell. “Rinku has been transferred [to another ward] so that he is not forced to do anything for any inmate. He is not a physiotherapist as some reports said on social media,” a prison official to Hindustan Times.

Following the tape’s release last week, the AAP and the BJP have resumed their verbal brawl.

Manish Sisodia, the deputy chief minister of Delhi, was also criticised by Bhatia for supporting Jain and labelling the recordings a “BJP ploy.” Jain was receiving treatment in jail, according to Sisodia, after suffering an injury.

“Chief minister Arvind Kejriwal was supposed to safeguard his citizens; rather he is safeguarding his ministers,” said BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia. Bhatia asked AAP to apologize to the country. “…wherever you are hiding should come out…sack your minister. You have to answer…are you standing with the rapists…? You are supporting such people accused of rape.”

BJP’s assertion that Jain was receiving special treatment was refuted by Kejriwal as well.
