Malayalam singer Edava Basheer collapses during live show, dies

Malayalam singer Edava Basheer passed away after he collapsed on stage while performing on Saturday, May 28. Edava Basheer played a significant part in popularizing the orchestra in Kerala.

The 87-year-old artist was performing at the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Blue Diamonds Orchestra in Kerala’s Alappuzha district. Basheer collapsed while playing out the song ‘Maana Ho Tum Beyhadh Haseen…’ by well-known Indian vocalist KJ Yesudas from the Hindi movie Toote Toys, released in 1978.

While he was singing the song, he unexpectedly fell over while trying to sit down on the stage. The mike dropped from his hand and individuals close by started to rush onto the stage.

Bashir was rushed to a hospital however he could not be rescued as he was declared brought dead by doctors.
