Integrating Robotics and Display Technology: Samsung and KUKA’s Innovative Showroom Experience

Located at KUKA’s headquarters in Augsburg, Germany, a state-of-the-art showroom showcases an innovative fusion of robotics and display technology. KUKA, a globally recognized leader in robotics and automation, unveils an installation that synergizes its advanced robotics with Samsung Electronics’ cutting-edge display solutions.

Robotic Precision and Display Excellence

The showroom’s centerpiece features an art installation where two KUKA industrial robots precisely maneuver a 65-inch Samsung Smart Signage display. This synchronized movement is set against a Samsung IEA Indoor series 4K LED display, comprising 64 cabinets. The panels open dynamically, presenting vivid digital art, ranging from detailed performer close-ups to engaging motion graphics.

With a 2.0mm pixel pitch, the IEA series display ensures sharp detail and vibrant colors, enhancing the robotic performance and illustrating KUKA’s precision in motion and animation of visual content.

Immersive Production Environment

In another section, five vertically mounted 105-inch Samsung QPDX-5K Smart Signage displays in a 21:9 aspect ratio create a ‘production window’ effect. This installation simulates an automated manufacturing line, offering visitors an immersive factory tour experience.

“Our goal is to make advanced technologies tangible and engaging, ensuring adaptability across diverse presentation formats,” said Lorenz Löbermann, Global Lead Corporate Brand Management at KUKA Group. “Samsung’s displays are perfectly aligned with these objectives.”

Comprehensive Visual Integration

The showroom incorporates 16 Samsung VMC-R video wall displays, expanding the visual experience. MEDIA tek, the integration partner, customized the Samsung solutions, combining LED, large-format LCD, and video wall technologies to create a cohesive, immersive environment.

This showroom offers attendees a direct interaction with KUKA’s innovations. Through the integration of robots, displays, and digital content, the space transitions automation from a static concept to an engaging, dynamic one. It highlights KUKA’s engineering prowess alongside an accessible vision of automation, demonstrating the systems’ capabilities in motion.
