Samsung Electronics has announced a strategic partnership with the MUNCH Museum to integrate Edvard Munch’s renowned artworks into its Samsung Art Store. This collaboration will make 37 of Munch’s masterpieces, including “The Scream,” “The Dance of Life,” and “Melancholy,” accessible to global audiences through digital platforms.

Expansion of Samsung Art Store’s Curated Collection

The new collection provides a comprehensive view of Munch’s oeuvre, featuring not only his iconic pieces but also lesser-known works such as “Garden with Trees” and “Two People at Table.” These are part of the museum’s carefully preserved archives, which are typically inaccessible to the public due to their delicate condition.

Tommy Nilsson, TV & Audio Director at Samsung Nordics, commented, “Our goal is to inspire self-expression through design and culture. The Samsung Art Store enables millions to access world-class art, and our collaboration with MUNCH enriches this offering by delivering European artistic heritage into homes worldwide.”

Global Reach and Technological Integration

According to Tone Hansen, Director of MUNCH, this initiative leverages Samsung’s Art TV technology to extend Munch’s reach beyond the museum’s physical confines in Oslo. “We are honored to partner with Samsung to enhance global access to Munch’s work,” Hansen stated.

The collection will be exclusively available to users of the Samsung Art TV lineup through the Samsung Art Store. Models supporting this feature include The Frame, OLED, Neo QLED, and Micro RGB, among others.

Innovating Home Art Display

Samsung is reshaping the traditional role of televisions by combining superior display technology with distinguished art curation. The Samsung Art Store offers a repository of over 5,000 artworks from prominent institutions and artists, now augmented by the inclusion of MUNCH’s pieces.

Users in Europe who own compatible Samsung TVs and are new to the Art Store can avail of a 90-day complimentary subscription trial. This provides immediate entry to the full range of Munch’s artworks and the broader Art Store catalog. The collection launch is scheduled for June 1, 2026, with global availability.
