India has successfully launched the intermediate-range ballistic missile Agni- III from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha in a training session.

India has successfully launched the intermediate-range ballistic missile Agni- III from APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha in a training session.
Agni-III is an intermediate-range ballistic missile with a range of 3000 -5000 km and is capable of delivering a nuclear warhead.
It was initially tested in 2006 which resulted in a failure as the missile fell into the sea shortly after launch.

It was first successfully tested the following year and the successful test gave India the capability to strike the major Chinese cities.
