Apple has offered the Western world ample proof that India is a fertile land for manufacturing. The tech giant started with its manufacturing for iPhones in India, which has prompted the other companies in the West to be attracted to the South East nation for the purpose of manufacturing, who may have had doubts earlier regarding India’s capacity and were hesitant to move away from China. One of these companies could be electric car manufacturer Tesla, who has earlier tried to enter the Indian market.
Tesla CEO and founder Elon Musk has hinted that India might be on his mind lately. The billionaire gave subtle hints that he like Indian food especially butter chicken with naan. Last month, Musk finally decided to follow Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Twitter, which became the talking topic on the social media platform, after a screenshot from the entrepreneur’s following list went viral. He also tweeted in regards to India becoming the most populous country in the world as he wrote, “Demographics is destiny.”
Earlier, Musk had criticised India’s high import taxes, due to which Tesla was not able to sell its cars in India. In return, Indian government had advised him not to sell cars manufactured in China in India.
