Droupadi Murmu, the next president, will take office on July 25

In front of Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, the President-elect will take the oath of office. This will be followed by a 21-gun salute.


The ceremony for President-elect Droupadi Murmu’s inauguration will take place on Monday at the Central Hall of Parliament.

The Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha M Venkaiah Naidu would all be in attendance, according to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

For the ceremony on July 25, members of the Council of Ministers, state governors, chief ministers, heads of diplomatic missions, members of parliament, and top civil and military officials from the Indian government will also congregate in the Central Hall.


The Central Hall will be entered by President Ram Nath Kovind and President-elect Droupadi Murmu in a formal procession. A 21-gun salute will accompany the President-taking elect’s of the oath of office in front of Chief Justice of India NV Ramana.

The President will then make a speech. As soon as the ceremony is over, the President will depart for Rashtrapati Bhavan, where she will be greeted with courtesies and an Inter-Services Guard of Honor in the forecourt.

Droupadi Murmu, the presidential candidate for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), was sworn in as the nation’s 15th president on Thursday at the end of the vote-counting process.

On Sunday, Ram Nath Kovind’s presidency would come to an end.

Ms. Murmu will occupy the top constitutional position in the nation for the second time; she is the first tribal person to do so.

She was the first female governor of Jharkhand, holding office from 2015 to 2021. She also held the position of minister in Odisha.
