Amid layoffs spree Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg tell staff to be ‘scrappier’

Meta has been conducting layoffs since past several months. Its third and last round of layoff begun this week, which was a part of the plan which was announced earlier in March. The plan was to eliminate around 10,000 roles. Amid the job slashes, the CEO Mark Zuckerberg at a company wide meeting expressed his wish for the future stability and less bureaucracy for the company to get a scrappier place, says a report in Washington Post.
Citing that these restructuring and layoffs has been a difficult thing for the company, the CEO does not expect the firm to be in a position like they were before, as it was never his goal. He added, “I wanted to get to a scrappier place,” as per a call recording accessed by the outlet.
Further ahead in the call, Mark stated that his first objective was to establish a stronger technology company that can build better products faster. Secondly, he wishes to improving the company’s financial position, which can help them sustain their ambitious investment plans in the long run.

Mark believes that with fewer employees, Meta would be able to streamline operations and cut down on bureaucracy.
