“After PM Modi, real development of North East began”: Amit Shah

Emphasising the development in the Northeast under PM Modi, the Home Minister said: “In 75 yrs of independence, before Narendra Modi became the PM, the northeast was considered only a tourist destination. After he became the PM, the real development of the northeast began.”

The Eastern and North-Eastern Zones Dairy Cooperative Conclave 2022 was officially opened on Friday in Gangtok, Sikkim, according to news agency ANI.

Addressing the gathering, Shah stated: “Narendra Modi govt has decided to set up around 65,000 active PACS (Primary Agricultural Credit Society). We’ve decided that within 5 yrs every panchayat will have one PACS & a dairy each.”

Shah is spending three days in the Northeast. Amit Shah will moderate a regional symposium on “Drug Trafficking and National Security” on Saturday in Guwahati, Assam. The conference’s agenda includes examining the drug situation in the northeastern region and potential solutions.

The high-level conference will also be attended by the chief ministers and DGPs of all the northeastern states.

He unveiled the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Gangtok’s Raj Bhavan. The state’s governor, Ganga Prasad, was also present.

Earlier today, Shah tweeted, “Leaving for the Northeast on my 3-day visit to Sikkim and Assam. Today will inaugurate the “Eastern and North-Eastern Zones Dairy Cooperative Conclave 2022″ at Gangtok followed by a series of programs in Assam.”

JP Nadda, the national president of the Bharatiya Janata Party, will also go to the Northeast today to open the party’s largest office there.

According to Assam State BJP President Bhabesh Kalita, the newly constructed Assam state BJP office in the Basistha neighbourhood of Guwahati will be formally opened by the party’s senior leaders on Saturday in the presence of state party officials and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

At the party workers’ rally at the Guwahati Veterinary College playground, Nadda and Shah will also be there.
