India see 474 infections in a day, lowest since April 2020

After 474 new infections were reported on Tuesday, India’s daily Covid-19 caseload continued to decline, according to the morning briefing from the health ministry. With this, the overall total for the nation rose to 4, 46,67,398.

The new case count for Tuesday was the lowest since the nation had 354 illnesses on April 6, 2020.

The statistics updated at 8 am showed that the number of active cases fell even lower, to 7,918 exactly, while the death toll increased to 5, 30,533, with 1 death recorded from Gujarat.

The percentage of infections with active cases is 0.02 percent, and the recovery rate for Covid-19 across the country is now 98.79 percent.

Up to this point, there were 4, 41, 27,724 patients who recovered from the illness, and the case fatality rate was 1.19 percent.

The statewide Covid-19 immunisation effort has resulted in the administration of 219.81 crore doses of the Covid vaccine to eligible recipients in the nation, according to the ministry’s website.

On August 7, 2020; August 23, 2020; September 5, 2020; and September 16, 2020; India’s Covid-19 tally had surpassed the 20 lakh mark. On September 28, it reached 60 lakh, on October 11, it reached 70 lakh, on October 29, it reached 80 lakh, on November 20, and on December 19, it reached one crore.

Last year, on May 4 and June 23, respectively, India reached the depressing threshold of two crore and three crore Covid-19 instances. On January 25 of this year, the nation passed the four billion person threshold.
