Meta likely to begin another round of lay off next week: Sources suggests 6,000 employees at risk

Meta is all set to started their latest round of laying off employees as the company’s president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, has informed the same to employees and others during a company-wide meeting, according to insights obtained by Vox. This is not surprising as the company’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg had earlier stated that the next round of layoffs will began in May 2023. Now, more details regarding the same is being leaked online before the official announcement.
The cited source has reported that as many as 6,000 workers will be laid off. Earlier, the tech giant laid off 11,000 employees in November and 10,000 jobs cuts in March 2023. Parent company of Facebook, Meta has already laid off 4,000 employees which means that there are still 6,000 employees on the list who will be asked to leave in May this year.
The report has also added that the seniors at Meta will soon send a note to employees, informing them about when the layoffs will began and what team will be impacted by layoffs. The employees, who will be affected by the layoff, will also receive an email for the same.

“We don’t have anything planned,” stated Andrew Bosworth, Meta’s CTO. He added that the plan is to continue what they have been doing for a long time as a company and go forth and build and grow.
