Despite the coronavirus pandemic that raged last year, some Indians made the 36th annual list of billionaires around the world. Forbes’ current rich list includes the Ambanis, Adanis, Mittals, and Birlas.
Here are the top 10 richest Indians:
1. Mukesh Ambani

Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, kept his status as Asia’s richest man and the world’s tenth richest man, with a net worth of $90.7 billion.
2. Gautam Adani and Family

Adani, who heads a conglomerate of infrastructure and commodities, is now Asia’s second-richest individual, with a net worth of $90 billion. He is now rated 11th in the world.
3. Shiv Nadar

Nadar, the creator of HCL Technologies Limited, is India’s third-richest person, with a net worth of $28.7 billion, according to Forbes. He is now rated 47th in the world.
4. Cyrus Poonawala

Poonwalla, the founder of the Serum Institute of India, which produced the Covishield vaccine, increased his fortune to $24.3 billion, jumping four spots from his previous position. He is ranked 56th in the world.
5. Radhakishan Damani

Damani, who founded Avenue Supermarkets, which operates D-Marts across the country, is ranked 81st in the world and has a net worth of $20 billion.
6. Laxmi Mittal

Lakshmi has a net worth of $17.9 billion and is rated 89th in the world. He is the chairman of ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steel and mining output firm.
7. Savitri Jindal and Family

Savitri Jindal, the woman behind the OP Jindal Group, a steel and power giant, is worth $17.7 billion and ranks 91st in the world. She is the only Indian woman among the top ten wealthiest people in the country, and one of just 13 Indian women among the billionaires.
8. Kumar Birla

Kumar is the Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group and has a net worth of $16.5 billion.
9. Dilip Shanghvi

Shanghvi is the CEO of Sun Pharmaceuticals, which is ranked 115th among the world’s largest pharmaceutical businesses. He has a $15.6 billion net worth.
10. Uday Kotak

Last but not least, Uday, the founder of Kotak Mahindra Bank and “India’s richest self-made banker,” is number 129 in the world with a net worth of $14.3 billion, according to Forbes.
